Everything you need to know before signing up, in plain language.
- What it is. A live Bible trivia tournament, every week, on Saturday at 9:00 PM ET (Eastern Time); the app shows your local time. It is free. You need an account in the app.
- The book of the week. Each tournament covers one book or a few chapters of the Bible, announced the Monday before. Every question comes from there: whoever studies it during the week arrives with an edge.
- Sign-up. Opens the moment the previous tournament ends — that same Saturday night, as soon as the champion is named — and closes when the next one starts. The list of participants is public, with name and skin.
- Reminders. If you are signed up you get six reminders: the confirmation when you sign up, the day before, the same day, one hour before, five minutes before, and when it starts. The last two open the room directly.
- How it is played. 20 questions of 15 seconds each, the same for everyone at the same time: the clock runs on the server, not on your phone. The door stays open for ten minutes before the first question; latecomers still get in and play from the current question, with the previous ones scored as zero.
- Scoring and ties. Each correct answer is worth 100 points plus up to 50 for speed. A wrong answer or no answer is worth 0. If two people tie on points, the one with less total time on their correct answers wins; if they still tie, they share the place.
- Prizes. The champion gets a permanent trophy on their profile, the crown on the leaderboard for the following week, and one month of the Lion's Club. If they are already a member, they get a one-month gift code instead, to give to anyone they choose.
- Fair play. One account per person. Duplicate accounts and automated answers are left out of the podium. The Master reserves the right to void a result with cause, and says so.
- Spectators. Anyone can watch it live, with no account and no code, at elmasterdelabiblia.com/tournament and from the app.
- Your data. The name, skin and profile photo of participants and winners are shown publicly in the app, on the web and on the app's social networks, just like on the leaderboard. Signing up means accepting that.
